The Mercer County Improvement Authority purchased a 140 year old building that was formally used by the American Steel and Wire Company. This two-story brick structure was structurally sound but needed new mechanical and electrical systems for the new use. The 17,000 sq foot building has two floors. The second floor is used as offices for MICA and the lower level was converted into a restaurant and spec offices. The second floor offices included energy recovery ventilation, under floor air distribution, high efficiency gas boilers and efficient lighting. Both the first floor and second floor were designed to obtain LEED certification.
