A 17,000 sq ft major addition was designed for the Daniel Pierce Library. The original library was approximately 2,000 sq ft. After the HVAC system was designed by another firm the board of directors realized that it was not what they really wanted for the project so they sought the services of Strunk-Albert Engineering to design a geothermal heat pump system. The original engineer did not have experience in this type of design. Since the design included VAV boxes, there were water to water heat pumps that provided hot water to the re-heat coils. The final design was well received by the board of directors and the operating cost is lower then what they originally expected.
