This 2,100 sq ft house was designed to meet LEED requirements but was not submitted for certification. The building envelope was constructed utilizing structural insulated panels. Strunk-Albert Engineering provided the HVAC design that included geothermal heat pump for air conditioning and heating of the residence. Also included in the design was a photovatic solar system and an energy recovery ventilation unit to exhaust the bathroom air and provide tempered make up air. This residence is south facing and utilizes a passive solar design. The energy consumption is near zero.
